PDP appoints Caretaker in 19 states, FCT
The National Working Committee, NWC of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has appointed Caretaker Committees at State, Local Government or Ward in 20 states including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The appointment is of Executives whose tenures have expired in some State, Local Government and Ward chapters to serve as Caretaker Committees in the affected levels for a period of three months with the effective dates back dated to as far as March 7 and March 23.
In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the action is “pursuant to the provisions of Section 29 (2) (b) of the Constitution of our Party on behalf of the National Executive
Committee, NEC” with the Caretaker Committees mandated to run the affairs of the Party at their appropriate levels.
The NWC however states that in situations where vacancies occurred in the respective Executives due to death, defection and or resignation, no replacement should be effected for such vacancies in the Caretaker
Committees.
The affected states are Bayelsa, Gombe and Rivers where the state, local government and wards executives have been retained as Caretaker Committees. For Abia, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Bauchi, Cross River, Delta, Enugu, Imo, Ondo, Plateau and FCT only the local government and wards levels are affected.
Dimensionz.Live can report that for Ekiti, Jigawa, Kaduna, Niger, Sokoto and Taraba only the ward executives have been mandated to serve as Caretaker Committees with all leaders, critical stakeholders and members to continue to work together to ensure the stability, growth and success of the Party.
